Catherine Gontier

Catherine Gontier handles wire like one would handle a pencil. Smooth, airy lines, with magical and surprising results: a hanging 3D drawing, with raw sensitivity. Although her inspiration come from both nature and everyday objects, she sticks with their essential lines. Our eyes follow this moving wire, embodied by an energy of its own which coils, twists and tries to find its balance in the asymmetry of shapes. What is the motive? To unreel an imaginary thread that goes beyond these shapes, thriving on our reveries.
