Pascale Drivière uses very simple materials to express her art.Whether it be frayed and patched linen or family photos, these relics, shaped through use and time, serve as a her raw material. These portraits sewn with a simple thread on embroidered frames bear the memory of needlework of our grandmothers. Despite the unfinished characteristics of these suspended threads, the expressive strength of the gaze strikes us and take us back to these fragile memories, so much like a photo whose edges have faded over time. What is the reason? To mend the rips in the past, gather loose connections so as to recover the thread of a forgotten history.
